Description
SRUC’s vision is to be a place-based university college working collaboratively to build a sustainable future for the natural economy. The organisation has recently launched its strategy to 2031 which sets out its ambitions to shape tomorrow’s industry leaders, drive sustainable growth and practices, contribute to a thriving natural economy and tackle the challenges we are facing in today’s world. SRUC works globally through international partnerships and at the same time is rooted locally across Scotland through our place-based campuses and our network of local consultancy offices. SRUC works with approximately 8000 farmers across Scotland and manages six research farms, of over 4400 hectares, to provide research, education and knowledge exchange in dairying, arable, beef, upland/hill sheep systems, pig and poultry farming.
Role in the project
SRUC coordinates a MAGHub located in a small catchment in north-east Scotland. It also leads Work Package 5, which focuses on improving tools for ecosystem-service assessment and decision-making in field and farm management.
