Description
The Agriculture, Territory and Technologies Integration Unit supports smart farming research by integrating data collected from detection and remote sensing sensors embedded in a range of technologies. These data are combined with meteorological information from CRA-W’s PAMESEB network, as well as other technical and environmental datasets. The Unit’s main objective is to develop decision-support tools for crop monitoring and management, risk prevention, informed decision-making, and crop growth assessment (e.g. yield estimation). These tools are designed to operate across multiple spatial scales, from regional territories to individual farm plots.
Role in the project
Within WP2, CRA-W contributes to developing solutions that integrate Earth Observation data into process-based models for ecosystem-service assessment and virtual mapping.
Within WP5, CRA-W contributes as a tool developer to improving tools that support ecosystem-service assessment and decision-making at field and farm levels.
More broadly, CRA-W contributes to the project’s dissemination, exploitation and communication activities.
